Use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut, build a Mars rover and solve real-world engineering problems. How might you use space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem here on Earth?BRIXology - Amazing ArchitectureWorking with Lego Master builders we set our sights on designing structures that work. Towers need elevators and rocket capsules need parachutes. In this session we explore all things structural. From bridges to carnival rides and towers to mars landers. We build it, test it and then expand our creations. This session is fun for all who like to tinker. Children will receive a take home activity each day. Let the building begin!  July 13 – 17Secret Agent Lab: Funky ForensicsStep into the shoes of a detective— uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Using your observational skills, collect evidence and analyze the clues left behind.  Recreate the scene of a crime using schematics. Use science to connect the dots and help sniff out the suspects in this hands-on investigation into the science of sleuthing!Jr NaturalistsLearn how birds and beasts catch their prey! Flow through the food chain and discover how animals and insects adapt to life on our planet. Explore how a change in the wind, water, and temperature affects all of Earth’s inhabitants. Build wooden birdhouses, dissect owl pellets and learn how animals navigate the world using scent trails. Campers will also build a bug house to observe critters and identify animals by making plaster animal tracks.August 10 – 14NASA: Journey to Outer Space        Take a voyage of discovery into the atmosphere and beyond as we explore planets, moons, and other space phenomena. Create a comet and build your own Mad Science rocket and participate in a real NASA style rocket launch!  Campers will take home additional NASA activities to complete at home!  Mad Science is the ONLY organization licensed by NASA to use these activities for Summer Camps!Mad Machines & Jr Engineers         Whether you enjoy building or destroying structures, you’ll love this camp! Work with simple machines such as pulleys, wedges, screws, and levers, to build your own catapults! Experiment with tessellation with triangles and cubes.  Exercise your ability to work with others while constructing a geodesic dome big enough for everyone to fit inside! Let the building begin!August 24 – 28Super Slimy Smokey Science        Dive into a variety of scientific fields as you help solve a mystery, stretch silly putty and slime, copper-plate nickels, tinker with circuits, and investigate optical illusions. Become captivated by lasers, dry ice, and hair-raising experiments! You will love what happens when you mix science and fun!Underground Explorers         From Dinosaurs to Ancient Civilizations! Learn about archeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities. Discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life. Study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils to understand what they can tell us about history. Make incredible projects to take home, like an amber time capsule and antique coins from around the world!

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM    Dungeons & Dragons, Game On!, Summer Camp - Session 1
Role Playing Games (RPGs) like Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) are a great way for kids to gain and reinforce social cooperation, critical thinking, and arithmetic skills in a developmentally appropriate, fun environment of epic fantasy quests like those from the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books and movies. In this half-day camp, experienced Dungeon Masters will guide kids through character creation, followed by several sessions of role playing in an adventure. Play will concentrate on the basics, so no experience is necessary, but veteran players will also have a blast! All materials will be provided, including dice, character sheets, reference books, and miniature figurines. At the end of the camp, the kids are welcome to keep their dice and figurines. In addition, kids are welcome to register for both weeks as the adventures won’t be the same.
