During this 45-minute course, Hiking Hound Adventures, LLC will be on the trail with little ones and their guardians to tackle some of the most asked questions surrounding taking kids into the woods. Through fun games and hands-on activities, we cover safety, choosing the right trail, packing considerations, and much moreMaps and Compass CourseLearn the essentials of map reading and compass navigation in this 90-minute class. Spend the first half-hour learning map components like scale and contour lines, as well as compass parts and techniques such as taking bearings and finding your location on a map. The final hour is hands-on field instruction. Here students will put theory into practice and help gain confidence navigating diverse terrain using a map and compass.

The Backpacking Fundamentals course is designed to provide you with hands-on experience and actionable insights, setting you up for success in your outdoor pursuits.
