Medical Me is a fun and engaging STEAM educational enrichment program, bringing medicine, science, and the importance of health to children ages 3 to 17, through interactive classes, camps, and special events. Our Mission is to educate young children with practical lifelong knowledge about medicine, science, and the importance of health. Our goal is to give children a better understanding and respect for the world of medicine, giving them confidence when communicating with their parents and doctors in a more in-depth manner.
Veterinary Medicine (Nov 25 & Jan 18)
Come role play, draw, practice medical procedures, and develop useful skills in the field of Veterinary medicine. Think creatively while being introduced to the day-to-day experience of a veterinarian. Have fun as you learn about different types of veterinarians!
Future Surgeons (Winter Break, Dec 28 - January 1)
Paging all future surgeons. Get ready to scrub in! This is a great opportunity to role play as a surgeon while learning the importance of surgery, different types of surgeries, how surgeons prepare for procedures, and the tools used during surgery. Hands-on activities like using safe medical instruments and dressing up in surgical attire help make the learning experience more interactive. The class also emphasizes the importance of safety, hygiene, and taking care of one's health to promote a positive understanding of medical care among children.
First Responders (Feb 12)
Explore the heroic world of first responders. Have fun doing hands-on activities to develop essential skills when handling medical emergencies, administering first aid, rescue operations, and more.
Reptile Rangers (Feb 15)
Join Medical Me staff for a super reptilian adventure! This interactive Reptile Rangers herpetology program is designed for those who are fascinated with snakes, lizards, turtles, frogs, and all things herpetological. Enjoy activities to engage and educate you about these incredible creatures in a safe and supportive environment.
Med School (March 10)
Get just what the doctor ordered and learn how to treat different patients. Discover the roles of organ along with muscles and think critically about the interactions of the human body and learn fun facts about different organs. Use real medical tools and learn how to perform a physical exam, including a heart and lung check, blood pressure measurements and more vital signs.
Vet School (Spring Break, March 22 - 26)
Get ready to dig into the everyday life of a veterinarian. After adopting their own stuffed pet, campers will explore how veterinarians diagnose, treat, and care for animals of all shapes and sizes, from household pets to wildlife.
